DATE:  Friday, September 12, 2025

TIME:  6:30 pm

LOCATION: Pershing Auditorium, Indiana War Memorial, 55 E Michigan Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204

Project Recover is a collaborative effort to enlist 21st-century science and technology in a quest to find and repatriate Americans Missing in Action (MIA) since World War II to provide recognition and closure for families and the Nation.

The Indianapolis POW/MIA Council is bringing an exclusive presentation by Project Recover, titled “Keeping America’s Promise.” The program will relate Project Recover’s efforts in finding, recovering, and repatriating America’s missing in action. The presentation will take place on Sept. 12, 6:30 p.m. at the Indiana War Memorial, 55 East Michigan Street, Indianapolis, in Pershing Auditorium.

There are over 81,000 American service members still missing in action from WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and the Global War on Terror. Indiana has over 1,700 unaccounted for service members.

Guest speaker Colin Colbourn, PhD. and Project Recover’s lead researcher and historian, will share information about the continuing work they do to keep our Nation’s promise of “no man left behind” and to bring closure to their families.

Colbourn’s presentation will be interspersed with poignant clips from the documentary “To What Remains,” a film that explores the latest scientific advancements used to search and identify MIAs. It is also a testament to the emotional journey families go through during the process.

Tickets are free but seating is limited. It is requested that anyone who wishes to attend register online. Tickets are available through Eventbrite at TICKETS.
